We are working on a pitch for a new piece of work that will include traditional and new media, and this is definitely new. Developed with FLARToolKit, an even cooler version of Actionscript 3, you can create a nifty 3D whatchamacallit. I don’t know what you call it.
Using a paper tracking target, some javascript/flash, a webcam and a microphone, you end up with, what our creative director, Jeff, called, “the devil’s work.”
If you want your mind blown, just follow the directions without watching the demo. If you don’t have a webcam, the demo is still pretty cool.
Not sure if we’ll be able to implement this for the project we’re pitching, but I love discovering cool new technology - whether there is a purpose for its use or not.
