The reopening of Crislip Arcade

More love in today’s Business Journal

In late 2008, a collection of businesses along Central Avenue united in an effort to revitalize the historic Crislip Arcade at 641 Central Ave.
Now, the 1920s-style mall and the surrounding block are due for a grand re-opening.
“We didn’t think this would happen two years ago,” said Jeff Zampino, creative director at Pinstripe Marketing, which is [...]

More new neighbors!

We’re roughly a month away from the official grand opening of the 600 Block / Crislip Arcade, and our new neighbors are making it look fantasic! The St. Pete Times has noticed and is continuing to follow the progress. Here is the latest story:
Crislip Arcade revitalization rooted in art

This one is for the birds (and dogs, and cats, and rabbits, and…)

I am so excited to learn that I was elected to the board of directors for SPCA Tampa Bay - the only open door shelter in Pinellas or Hillsborough Counties. This is an amazing organization that accepts any animal, including animals that other shelters must turn away.
While I’ve always been generally aware of SPCA, I got to [...]

Welcoming new neighbors

We had a quick meeting this afternoon to welcome some of our new neighbors to the  block! I haven’t posted anything about the Crislip in a while, but the progress has been fantastic. What started as a simple exterior clean up project to make the block look better has developed into an amazing redevelopment initiative. [...]

Progress!

Morning and afternoon shifts are available. Please bring your supplies as well.

Crislip…. progress?

I’m very happy to report some progress with our little block in downtown St. Pete.(A big thank you to those that signed our petition last year.)
Since the article in in November’s Business Journal, it was slow until last month when we met with members of the St. Pete Preservation Society and The Studio @620 to kick [...]

Buying Local - The 3/50 Project

Yes indeed, times are tough. Turn on the news and there is a tidal wave of bad news about the economy. The government is “bailing out” companies that drove themselves into the ground, and unfortunately, will do it again.
So it is up to us.
The 3/50 Project is a grassroots effort to encourage us to spend [...]

I’m going to jail.

Yep, I’m heading to the lock-up.  On May 13th, I’ll be cooling my heels at the St. Pete Hilton Downtown, waiting to be bailed out by my friends and colleagues. I am raising $3200 for ALS/Muscular Dystrophy - something that hits close to home for my family. I can’t help but believe that we are [...]
